It seems that finding companies that have great customer service is becoming more rare these days. But there are still a few out there that do a great job, or at least that has been my experience. Here are some examples of how I have been served well.
I went through the drive-thru at Starbucks to get a cup of coffee and there was a long line. It was a Saturday, so I thought I would wait it out. I ordered my Grande Pikes Place and waited as I got closer to the window. As I pulled up, I went to get out my wallet and realized that I had left it at home. Feeling a little embarrassed, I told the guy what happen as I began to slowly pull away. He said, “Here, get us back the next time you come” and handed me the cup of coffee. I was in shock. Do people actually do this? Well, yes…yes they do. Now, just to clarify, I do think that Starbucks is pricey for a cup of coffee. However, I think every once in a while it is OK. The idea is to have a budget that works and that will also allow you to enjoy life.
Custom Built Personal Training
I decided at one point that I would prepay personal training sessions so that I could get a better deal. I enjoyed the sessions but eventually I felt equipped enough to where I no longer needed the trainer anymore. I called up the company while I was driving and the gentleman on the phone told me I needed to call the corporate office to get a refund. He was about to give me the number over the phone but I interjected to let him know I was driving and I was unable to write it down. I said I would look it up online later and thanked him. He then proceeded to say that he would call back and leave a message on my voice-mail with their number and address. Wait. What? I am calling to cancel their services and this guy was willing to take the extra effort to call me back and leave a message with the number for the people to contact! Well, if I ever want personal training again, I will surely be going back to them.
The other day I went to my mechanic to get my oil changed and he said that I had a nail in my tire. Since he doesn’t fix tires he recommended that I take it to Discount Tire. It was getting close to the end of the day and I called to see if I could still bring in my car. The guy on the other end said that it would be no problem. When I got there, they took my car in and fixed it promptly. When the guy called my name to tell me that my car was ready, I told that I still had to pay. He informed me that there was no need to pay as they do flat repairs for free. Wow. Needless to say, I will be going back to them for my future tire needs.
