12 Legit Ways to Make Money Online With Google

Google, the company with the most widely used search engine, is familiar to all of us. Whether you like it or not, Google is likely a part of your life.

You might have even gotten to this article through a Google search, which just proves how prevalent Google is in our world.

Best Ways to Make Money Online with Google

With their large set of tools and assets, Google has created a multi-billion dollar company. You can use some of the tools they have created to make money yourself.  Although you will not be making billions of dollars, you can make enough money to make Google side hustles worth the effort.

It will take hard work, but you should be able to make a nice chunk of change if you put in some time.

1. Adsense

If you have ever spent time thinking about how to monetize a webpage, then Google’s Adsense likely came up at some point.

Basically, Adsense is Google’s cost-per-click (CPC) advertising source. As an owner of a blog or other website, you can place Google Adsense codes into your page. As visitors click on the ads, you will receive a varying amount of cash per each click.

Want to start a blog? Check out our guide here.

One thing to note, you cannot use Google Adsense if you use WordPress.com as your blogging platform. (WordPress.com is different from WordPress.org).

The best part about Google Adsense is that it is free for anyone with a webpage to use. You can sign up easily and start monetizing your webpage quickly. You can even monetize YouTube videos with Google Adsense, but you will need at least 10,000 views before you are approved for this part of the program.

2. Adwords

Google Adwords is very similar to Google Adsense, but it is made for advertisers to use. You will not earn money directly through using Google Adwords, but effectively using Adwords can help you to drastically increase your page views. More visitors means more income, so this is definitely a good strategy to use.

The key feature of Adwords is that it presents your ads to internet users that are already searching for your product, service or website but just don’t know it yet. By using Google Adwords, you will be better able to attract your target audience for your website.

3. Google Opinion Rewards

Do you enjoy giving your opinion freely to others? You might as well get paid for sharing your opinion and Google would like to pay you for just that. Through Google Opinion Rewards, you can earn free Google Play credits for just giving your opinion to Google.

You can download the app at the Google Play Store and answer surveys in your free time. You will be sent a notification when a survey is available for you to take. Most surveys will pay you up to 1 dollar for your opinion.

The survey topics vary, so you will never get bored of the topics you answer questions about. The amount of money you make might be small, but it always nice to have some extra money in your spare time to use for fun things like movies and games.

4. Create and Sell Apps on Google Play

Do you have a great idea for an app? Then you should get it up on the Google Play Store and make some money off of your great idea. There is more than one way to make money with an app in the Google Play Store.

First, you can obviously make money by selling the app you have created for money. Simply set up a Merchant account with Google Wallet. Then publish the app as a paid app and watch the money roll in from each download.

Second, you can include Google Ads in your app without too many extra steps. As your number of users increases, so will your income!

5. Search Engine Evaluation

Did you know that you can get paid to evaluate search engine results?

It can be frustrating to stumble onto a web-page that has absolutely nothing to do with what you searched for. Search engine evaluation services help to optimize search engines in order to save search engine users wasted time.

As a search engine evaluator, you will be asked to evaluate web pages, websites, ads and more. All of your notes will have an effect on future searches. Basically, you are doing some legwork to ensure that the search engine is actually finding things that are relevant.

You will need to be comfortable working in the realm of the internet in order for this to be a good option for you.

The typical rate for a search engine evaluator is about $12 an hour. Not too bad for a nice side hustle. Depending on the company you work for, your hourly rate could be more or less.

If this sounds like a great fit for you, then check out these companies to find an employer match. Leapforce, Appen, iSoftStone, and Lionbridge are all good companies to start with.

Leapforce and Lionbridge are Google’s favorite two companies, so if you are looking to eventually work for Google then I would start with one of these options.

If you found your way to this article by doing a Google search, then you should realize just why search engine evaluator jobs are a legitimate way to earn money. An algorithm can only take search results so far, the last step has to be taken by a human. That human could be you!

6. Write and Sell Books on Google Play

Are you good with words? Or always dreamed of writing your very own novel? Then get writing! You can make a nice profit on the Google Play Store without having to go through a difficult publishing process.

First, you will have to write the book, that is the hard part. After that, you can simply sign up as a publisher or author on the Google Books Partner Program. Just upload a book file and that’s it! Yes, it really is as simple as that.

If you really enjoy writing and already want to write a book, then this could be a great option to make money with Google. I would like to warn you that writing a book is hard work, so don’t attempt to write a book unless you really feel up to the challenge.

Publishing a book through this option is really a great way to test the waters of the writing world. If you aren’t sure about writing a whole novel, you can always write a series of short stories or a connected string of poetry and publish that instead! You just have to make sure you enjoy what you are writing or it may be hard to finish what you started.

7. SEO Consulting

An SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategy is a very important part of any successful website. Although everyone would like to implement an SEO strategy, very few people have the skills necessary to create and execute an effective plan.

If you have those skills, then you should offer your services to other businesses and websites. SEO consulting can be a very lucrative business, but make sure that you know what you are doing. It would not be fair to simply “wing it” on other people’s websites.

You might not know anything about SEO, but you could learn it fairly easily. There are plenty of resources available, but like most things, you just need to put in the time.

8. Google Remote Careers

Google does hire remote workers for many different capacities. There are many developer and engineering remote jobs available at Google. It is not unlikely that you will find other job remote job openings available for positions in operations or administration.

Google does not limit itself to just remote employees though, the company policy also seems very open to freelancers of all kinds. If you already have a freelancing career, then this may be something to look into.

The best place to look for a Google job is on their job board. It is always a good idea to reach out. Never be afraid of what could happen, the absolute worst thing that could happen is that they say no. Is that really so bad?

9. Google Checkout

Although Google Checkout will not directly make you any money, it might help potential customers to feel comfortable purchasing an item from you. People trust Google, they might not trust your website.

Google Checkout is a payment handling service that will help make transactions between you and your customers easier.

Needless to say, Google Checkout will only be helpful if you have a business. Unless you are selling something already, this tactic will not help you make any money with Google.

Do you want to try your hand at selling something? Then give it a try. If you are looking for some ideas on what to sell, then check out this article on 23 things to sell from home online.

10. Google Keyword Planner

Google Keyword Planner is a tool that helps businesses and websites figure out what people are searching for in their queries. If you own a website, then this could be a huge key to your long-term success.

If you know what people are searching for, then you can easily craft or adjust your material to suit their needs. Planning out your content with this keywords may sound like a low rewards job. In the short-term, you will likely not see a huge surge in income because this is a long-term strategy. Over time you should see a large increase in your traffic.

As more visitors come to your site, you will have the opportunity to monetize that traffic and generate large profits over time.

Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see results right away, it may take a little while for your hard work to pay off.

11. YouTube

If you have a YouTube channel with a large following, then you can easily monetize that traffic with Google. The simplest method would be Google Adsense, but there are multiple ways to make money with YouTube videos and Google. The more viewers you have, the more money you will earn.

If you don’t already have an audience, then start building one now!

12. Blogger

Blogger is a free platform that can be used to create and run a blog with. You can use Blogger to build a large following. Once you have a loyal following, you can start to monetize this traffic very easily through Blogger.

As with other blogs, you can monetize your sit in multiple ways. Google Adsense, affiliate marketing, and sponsored posts are just a few things to start out with.

Blogger is owned by Google, so, like most things that Google has created, it very easy to set up and use.

Last Bit of Advice

All of these are amazing ways to makes some extra money with Google. It is more than possible to make some extra money this money (and every month) just by working with a company that is probably on your computer every single day anyway.

As you are looking for opportunities to work with Google (or any online job), please make sure to be safe when it comes to applying for remote jobs. You should never be asked to pay for the opportunity to apply for a job. If you are asked to give someone your credit card information, then it is likely that the opportunity is actually a scam. Don’t fall for it!

There are plenty of legitimate ways to make money with Google online, so there is no need to do anything that makes you uncomfortable online while you are applying for a job.

How will you be using Google to make extra cash in the near future?

17 Ways to Get a Costco Membership for Free

Costco is a great place to shop if you are budget conscious. You can save money on food, alcohol and more!

If you are thinking that buying in bulk might be bad for your health, think again. That is just not true. You can eat healthy on the cheap by shopping at Costco.

If you shop responsibly at Costco, you can save yourself lots of money on things you already need.

The catch is the membership fee, which can range from $60 for an average family to $120 for an executive plan.

If you aren’t sure about Costco, then you should just walk around the store to see if it would be worth it for you and your family. You can walk around, but you won’t be able to buy anything (except for the covered exceptions) without a membership.

Unfortunately, there is not a “free” membership coupon that will allow you to waltz into the store and start shopping.  However, it is still possible to offset the costs of a membership and earn a membership that is basically free.

Offset the Membership Cost

Assuming that you buy the family plan, you will have to pay 60 dollars for the membership. As long as you are able to save more than 60 dollars at Costco over the course of a year, then the membership cost is basically free.

If you choose to go with the executive plan, then you need to hit 120 dollars of savings before your membership cost is offset.

You’ll be back in the green of saving money when you hit $60 (or $120), so keep track of your savings as you go. You might be surprised how quickly your savings add up!

1. Buy Kirkland brand

Kirkland is Costco’s private label that is sold exclusively at Costco. If you have never used this brand, then you should know that it is a good thing to buy.

Although it is not a brand name, all of its products are really worth buying. Kirkland has everything from canned tuna to baby diapers. Whatever you are going to buy, make sure to look for the Kirkland brand.

The Kirkland brand is manufactured by many of your popular brands, which means that you will just pay less for something you already love.

A few examples include Kirkland diapers are made by the Huggies manufacturer, Kirkland Scotch is made by the Macallan 18 manufacturer, Kirkland tuna is made by the same company as Bumblebee tuna and Kirkland Vodka is manufactured by Grey Goose.

All of those names you already trust can be found at a much better price under the Kirkland name, so enjoy those savings! Keep track as you aim to offset your membership fee.

2. Buy Tires

You have to replace the tires on your car on a regular schedule, so you might as well use your Costco membership.

The store has excellent prices on tire brands that you trust and offer some amazing add-on services to your purchase. The service department offers lifetime rotation, warranties replacements and air inflation with nitrogen which can help keep the pressure in your tires more stable.

If you use the instant rebate that is offered, then you might be about to offset the cost of your new membership with just one purchase.

Currently, there are rebates available on BFGoodrich tires (60 dollars off!) and Michelin tires (70 dollars off!). The deals vary by month, but it likely you will be able to find a good bargain.

Costco will have you and your car driving safely on the road in no time. It also appears that certain locations have tires for off-roading vehicles, high-performance sports cars, and trailers. Check out your local store to see saving are available to you.

3. Buy Gift Cards

Costco has packages of bulk gift cards that can help you save big! Typically, you will be able to save between 25% and 35% on gift cards to popular retailers.

You can give these away as gifts, no one will ever know it was discounted. It can be your little secret around the holidays. If you have a lot of people to buy for, then this purchase might offset your entire membership cost!

Or if you know you will end up spending money at that store, you can keep them to spend. You can buy anything you like at that store and you already have a savings built into your purchase. If you find a good deal at that store, its like you’ve hit the savings lotto!

This might be my favorite way to save money at Costco, just because the options are almost limitless.

4. Buy Gas

Costco offers low cost fuel that can help to really cut down on your monthly fuel costs. If you use a lot of fuel, then this could be the perfect way to offset your membership cost.

These savings can really pay off, especially if you are going on a road trip any time soon. There are Costco locations across the country, so you might as well stop and fill up where gas is cheapest.

You won’t have to use your gas driving around to find the cheapest gas anymore, you know you’ll get the best price at Costco.

5. Buy Movie Tickets

If you enjoy going to the movies but do not enjoy the price tag, then buy your movie tickets in advance at Costco. You can find deals on 10 packs of movie tickets for between 80 and 90 dollars.

That works out to about 8 or 9 dollars a ticket, which is unfortunately way less than you will spend on most movie tickets today.

You might also be able to find a deal on food vouchers that could help reduce the cost of your popcorn and soda. Another way to avoid the snack costs at the theater is to buy candy in bulk at Costco and sneak it in. I always choose the second option 🙂

6. Keep an eye on the “Instant” Costco Coupons

Using coupons at Costco is a breeze, you don’t even need to have the coupons with you in order to maximize your savings. The company has a monthly book full of coupons that offer great savings, but you do not need to have the coupons at the register.

The coupon discounts will be taken at the register automatically. So even if you missed the monthly book, you will still get the discount. However, it is a good idea to take a look at the coupon book to make sure you are not missing out on any amazing deals.

These coupons are so easy to use that you might not even realize they are being used.

I recommend making sure to keep track of this savings because it can really add up! You might even hit the 60-dollar membership fee without even trying!

While we are on the subject of coupons, there is something you should know about coupons at Costco. Costco does not accept any manufacturer’s coupons. Yes, it is disappointing.

Although you will not be able to use any of the coupons you are normally able to use at other stores, with the easy “Instant” Costco coupons it is unlikely that you will feel like you are missing out on any savings. You might even appreciate that you do not have to track down any coupons while you are in the check out line.

7. Use Ibotta

If you are thinking, I cannot go shopping without my coupons then you will want to try downloading Ibotta. Ibotta is a great app that will help you get around the whole no coupon policy.

Although you won’t earn any savings at the register, you just have to claim your rebates by taking a picture of your receipt.

The app has plenty of rebates that you can use at many stores, including Costco, in addition to your other savings. The rebates are usually on basics like milk, eggs, beer and other staples which means you shouldn’t have any trouble adding to your already substantial savings.

If you use the app often, it is likely you will be able to offset the cost of your membership within the year.

Check out our Ibotta review for more information on this app.

8. Use the “Price Protection” Plan

You might know the feeling of buying something and then watching the price drop the next day, week or month. It is a terrible feeling that has you thinking “if only I had waited just a little while longer before buying X, Y or Z.”

With a Costco membership, you won’t have to feel that pain anymore. If you shop at Costco often, just hang on to your receipts.

It is likely you will buy something that later goes on sale or has a price reduction of some kind. That kind of thing happens to most of us all the time. If that happens to you on a Costco purchase, then you can just head over the Costco customer service desk as soon as you notice the price reduction. Bring your receipt and they will help you get your money back.

This is a relatively painless experience that can help you save money and avoid buyer’s remorse.

Again, keep track of your savings in order to see when you have hit the 60 dollar mark.

9. Maximize Your Cash Back Rewards

That’s right, you can buy a card that offers you cash rewards. The cash can only be used at Costco, but it can help to completely offset your annual membership fee.

This cash back program is for the executive level membership only. Instead of 60 dollars, you will pay 120 dollars but there are perks that come along with the upgrade.

With this level of membership, you get a ton of extras that just aren’t available to the average gold card holder. You get access to travel rewards, special insurance rates, home loan options and more.

The best part of this membership is that you get a 2 percent cash back feature on all qualifying purchases! 2 percent might not sound like a lot, but the yearly rewards will add up!

If you are planning on shopping mostly at Costco, then this is a great idea. It is likely you will spend enough to pay for the membership fee.

Not all purchases qualify. Some things like gas, gift cards, and food court purchases do not qualify. Most things will count towards your rewards total though.

If you are considering this option, think about how much you are planning to spend at Costco each year. If you only buy your groceries here, it might not be worth paying for the executive membership.

However, if you plan on buying more things at Costco including appliances, groceries, electronics and more, then the card will literally pay for itself.

Find a Membership Deal

A simple way to pay less for your Costco membership is to find a good deal. As simple as that sounds, the deals on actual memberships are limited. However, there are a few options to look into.

10. Create Your Own Test Trial

At Sam’s club, you can get a free membership for the day just to see how you like it before you buy a whole year membership.

Unlike other warehouse stores, like Sam’s Club, Costco does not offer a free trial experience. However, there is a grey area that will allow some of you some wiggle room.

If you want to think outside the box, you can create your own free trial.

The official Costco membership refund policy says, “We will refund your membership fee in full at any time if you are dissatisfied.” Which basically means, you can just give it a try and if you don’t like the membership then you can get a full refund.

This could be a good option if you are on the fence about buying the membership. It gives you the option to back out of the membership if it is just not working for you and your family.

Technically, you could use the membership for 364 days and cancel before it is too late to get your money back. If you are planning on trying this method, as with all other memberships the key is remembering to actually cancel on time.

It is likely that you won’t be allowed to try this twice though. It is hard to say, “well I disliked it enough to cancel, but I am going to try again this year.” I am sure they have some kind of system in place that would only let this tactic work once.

11. Check out Groupon and Living Social

Both Groupon and Living Social have offered amazing Costco membership deals in the past.

You might be able to find a discounted membership fee, or a package deal that makes the purchase well worth it.

If a deal isn’t available right now, then it will likely come back in the future. Many times these sorts of deals come in rotations.

You might want to sign up for the newsletters offered by Groupon or Living Social in order to get the deal when it appears. It is too easy to forget to check back regularly for a specific deal. Plus, there is a chance that the deal will be gone by the time you see it.

12. Make Some Inquiries

This method is less straightforward than the other outlined methods, but I have seen it work in the past. It is a very informal method of attempting to get a discounted or free membership.

First, get a group together. This can be family, friends, a moms group, a singles group, it can really be anything as long as everyone wants a Costco membership.

Second, take your list of names to a store manager at Costco. Ask the manager if they would be willing to give your group memberships at a discounted rate if everyone bought a membership.

Now, they may say yes or no. This worked for my friend and a group of friends with young families. In fact, the store has honored her discounted membership rate for the past few years. However, there is no official Costco statement that acknowledges the existence of any sort of group deals like that.

I would give it a try though, the worst that they could say is no. If you are wondering why a manager would agree to give out discounted memberships. Think of all the money a young family will likely spend at Costco after they have secured a membership, it is likely worth it to the managers.

Do not be discouraged if they say no, but it never hurts to ask.

Make Purchases Without a Membership

Certain items at Costco can be purchased without a membership. The company does not have too much information available on the status of these deals at each location, so I would clarify that the deal in honored at that store by calling ahead.

13. Buy Alcohol

If you drink alcohol on a regular (or even semi-regular) basis, then you will want to cash in on the savings at Costco. The prices are deeply discounted as compared to a normal retailer, so you’ll be able to add up savings fast.

The Kirkland brand offers the best alcohol deals, so be open to trying something other than your original favorite in order to maximize your savings. Also, remember that many of the Kirkland brand products are manufactured by companies you already love.

You might be able to use these savings without a membership. Although there is no official statement from Costco, I have known many people that are able to walk in and buy alcohol without a membership.

Just be sure to clarify with that location before you start loading up your cart. Otherwise, you could be in an awkward situation at check out.

14. Buy Prescriptions

Many of the common medications are available at a better rate at Costco. It might seem unfair that only members can receive special rate medications. The FDA agrees. Due to laws set by the FDA and other organizations, Costco has to sell these low-cost prescriptions to people with or without a membership.

So, you can feel free to cash in on these savings with or without a membership.

15. Use a Costco Cash Card

You will need help from a card holding member for this tactic. If you have a family member or close friend that is willing to help, you can just go with them to buy a Costco cash card. The card can be purchased from the customer service desk.

After you buy the card, you can start shopping right away. As far as I can tell, there is no waiting period or restrictions on what you may spend the Costco cash on.

Basically, anyone with a Costco cash card can buy things at Costco with or without a membership. It is a perfect way to save money at Costco without having a membership. You get all the perks without ever buying a membership card.

Make sure to buy a card with a large value so that it does not have to refilled anytime soon. The maximum amount you can buy is 1,000 dollars.

Be sure to thank your friend for helping out!

16. Buy From the Food Court

Apparently, you can buy food from the Costco food court without a membership. The fare includes things like hot dogs, rotisserie chicken, soft serve ice cream, soda, pizza and more.

You will have to pay cash for your meal, but you will be eating inside the Costco store. I am not sure how exciting this is, but you will be able to see what is like inside a Costco store without awkwardly walking around aimlessly.

Some of you will decide to check out the store before jumping into a membership, which is always a good idea.

If you want to simply order walk out with something in your hands during or after your scouting trip around the store, then this is a good option. You can just order a pretzel and call it a day.

17. Buy at Costco.com

As a non-member, you can buy things at the online Costco store. The catch is that you will have to pay an extra 5 percent over the member price.

The exception is prescription drugs, you will not have to pay a surcharge if you are ordering those.

If you are looking to buy a few specific things from Costco, then this could be a good option for you. Even with the surcharge, there may be some good deals.

Skip the Membership and Keep the Savings

Maybe you have read these ways to get a free Costco membership and decided that none of these options work for you. That is okay. If you are absolutely sure that you do not want to purchase a membership, then consider this option.

You can get Costco prices without ever shopping at Costco. That might seem like a confusing statement, how can you possibly keep the savings of Costco without any kind of membership? The answer is price matching!

Remember, there is nothing wrong with walking through Costco. You can look for deals and thing head over to a different store to claim the deal via price matching.

Many stores will price match Costco’s prices. So, all you have to do is find a Costco deal and a store that will match it. Some stores that will match prices include Best Buy, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Office Depot, Sears, PetSmart, Sam’s Club, Target, Staples and more.

Make sure that the store will match the price you have. Some of these stores will only match the online Costco prices, not in the in-store deals. Call ahead to confirm your location matches Costco’s prices and to clarify the terms of their price matching policy.  Also, check with other stores in your area, it is likely that many others price match with Costco.

The worst that can happen is that you ask and the store says no. It is not the end of the world. This could be the best option if you are looking at Costco for a specific item or two. Electronics and appliances are two areas where this tactic could pay off in a big way.

Final Thoughts

Finding a Costco membership deal can be a challenge, but it is worth it! The potential savings can be huge, but you need to make sure that a membership is worth it for you and your family.

If you are a growing family that spends a lot of food and other products found at Costco then the membership will likely pay for itself in no time.

The key is knowing that you will spend enough money at Costco to more than offset the membership costs. Take a look at your budget versus the potential savings at Costco before you decide if getting a membership is the right choice for you.

A day at Six Flags will be a day packed with fun. With 16 parks spread out across the country, it will be easy to find a park to enjoy. The day will hopefully be an experience that your family can enjoy together, but the cost at the end of the day might put a slight damper on your enjoyment.

The price of tickets is very high and spending between 60 and 85 dollars per ticket might not sound like your idea of fun.

Especially when you multiply that by how many members are in your family. Once you start adding in food costs and souvenirs, the total cost of the trip might be astronomical.

Luckily, there are many ways to find Six Flags tickets at a better price. If you can find a good deal on the tickets, then the trip will be more affordable It will also be more enjoyable because you won’t be worried about going over your budget.

How to Save Money on the Tickets

1. Coca-Cola Company Cans

If you already drink soda, then this is the perfect deal for you. There are usually some great deals on the back of the can. You will need to bring the pop can to the park in order to get the discount at the ticket window.

The discount usually ranges from 15 to 21 dollars, but there can be some restrictions. One of the most common restrictions is that most coupons can only be used on an adult price ticket. Make sure to read the rules before you head to the park, it can be an upsetting surprise when the coupon you planned to use didn’t work.

You might not want to bring your empty cans to the park, so another option is using the promo code “COKE” on the Six Flags website. It may not work for every park, but if you are attempting to buy your tickets online, then this is a good option to try.

2. Buy Your Tickets Ahead of Time

You can save a surprising amount of money simply by buying your tickets ahead of time. Just by buying your ticket in advance you can save between 15 and 25 dollars depending on the park you plan to visit.

You just have to go to sixflags.com and buy your tickets at least 24 hours in advance. You can easily print them and head to the park.

Not only does this trick save you money, but it also saves you time because you will not be standing in the ticket office line with everyone who didn’t know about this deal. You will have more money in your pocket and more time in the park as a result of this discount.

3. Use your AAA discount

If you have an AAA card, then make sure to use it!

Many of us have AAA memberships to save us from sketchy situations on the side of the road. Another benefit of AAA is that they also have a ton of member exclusive discounts available to cardholders. One of these discounts is on Six Flags tickets.

AAA members can save 5 dollars on a general admission ticket, just by showing your card to the ticket office. You can also save son souvenirs by capitalizing on the 10% discount available on all merchandise purchases of 15 dollars or more when you are in the park.

This is definitely a double win if you have an AAA card handy.

Who doesn’t love using coupons? Finding a good coupon is like finding free money, especially when it comes to Six Flags coupons. You can save a ton of money on your next trip there if you find the right deals.

If you are a Six Flags fanatic or just someone who goes fairly often, then you might want to consider buying the season pass. You can save quite a bit of money on tickets if you use your season pass often.

Buying the season pass will not make sense if you only go one time a year, but if you go three or four times a year then it is definitely looking into.

In addition to a cheaper admission to the park, you will also receive some great benefits as a season ticket holder. These benefits usually vary by season, but some of these perks from past seasons include in-park discounts, free parking, exclusive events, free tickets for your friends on certain days on top of unlimited visits.

It can really be a great option if you are planning to spend many weekends at the Six Flags parks.

6. Groupon

Groupon has some great deals on almost everything you might want to do, including Six Flags discounts. There are usually some worthwhile discounts on the site, so it is worth checking out before you make your final purchase.

7. Group Discounts

Group discounts can be a great way to get a good deal at most theme parks and Six Flags is no exception. You can save money by getting a big group of people together and heading to the park.

The minimum number of people usually ranges between 10 or 20 people and it varies by park.  If you are thinking “there is no way that I could get that many people together,” then you haven’t thought about all the options yet.

The discount can be given to companies, youth groups, schools, travel groups, reunions and more. You could even go with another family or two and buy your tickets together for the discount. If you don’t want to hang out after the ticket window, then you can easily go your separate ways after you score a great discount together.

8. Check for Coupons at the Grocery Store

Six Flags has worked with many manufacturers over the years to place a Six Flags coupon on product packaging. For example, Six Flags coupons can be found on Tony’s frozen pizza and Ortega taco shell boxes.

The discounts can vary based on what product the coupon is on, but it can be worth looking for these coupons. Sometimes you will find a really great deal.

The Six Flags coupons will usually move from one product to another every year, but it can be worth looking around the store to find the coupon.

9. Look for Discounts at Local Merchants

Some local stores and regional chains sell Six Flags tickets at a discounted rate. You can look around the store in your area to see if there is a deal for you.

One store that does sell discounted tickets is Kroger stores, you can get a season pass at a much better price than at the park.

10. Employer Discounts

Some employers sign up for programs like TicketsatWork.com. As an employee, you can receive benefits like discounted tickets to theme parks and concerts.

It is worth finding out if your employer offers a similar program. You will be able to save money on Six Flags tickets as well as other events and parks in your area.

11. Credit Unions

Some local credit unions allow you to purchase Six Flags tickets at a discounted price. Just call around to credit unions in your local area to see if any nearby can offer you a good discount on tickets.

12. Join the Read to Succeed Program

The Read to Succeed program is a reading club that is designed to encourage kids to read. The program is offered for children in kindergarten to sixth grade. Your child’s school has to be within 250 miles of a Six Flags theme park in order to participate.

Any student that completes six hours of recreational reading will receive a free admission ticket. That’s right, a completely free ticket.

Not only will your child earn their ticket, but also encourage them to read more! Another double win!

A bonus feature of this program is for the teachers. If you are a teacher that has 10 or more students participating in the program, then you are also eligible for a free ticket.

Scoring a free ticket is even better than finding a good discount.

13. Use Your Discover Credit Card

If you already have a Discover credit card, then definitely use it to purchase your Six Flags tickets.

As a Discover cardholder, you will receive a 5% discount on your ticket purchase. The discount also applies to all purchase made within the park.

You can use this discount either at the ticket office or online before you go.

14. Military Discount

You know if this applies to you. Just ask for the military discount and you should receive a discount, the exact amount will vary by location.

15. Look for Tickets at Costco

Check out a warehouse store like Costco, Sam’s Club or BJs for a deal. Sometimes they have amazing deals on tickets, other times the deals aren’t as great. Still worth checking out on the off chance you hit the coupon lottery.

Other Ways to save at Six Flags

You can not only save on tickets, but there are many other things that you can save money on when going to Six Flags.

16. Buy Your Parking Pass Ahead of Time

While this trick won’t save you money on your actual tickets, it will help you to save money on the overall trip. The parking prices at Six Flags can be steep, between 15 to 30 dollars for each vehicle.

You can buy a parking pass in advance that will save you a bit of money. The season pass for parking is currently 45 dollars, but it will allow you to park for free all season.

Otherwise, you will have to shell out at least 15 dollars just to park your car in the parking lot for the day.

Although you can always have someone drop you off or hope to find an empty parking lot, those are both inconvenient and unlikely.

Hopefully, this will help make the fact that you have to pay for parking a little bit less painful.

17. Don’t Get a Locker

Only bring what you want to carry around the park all day to avoid purchasing a locker. It can not only be expensive to buy a locker but also inconvenient to continually have to be running back to the locker to get something.

18. Don’t Buy Any Souvenirs

If at all possible, don’t buy the park souvenirs. They are expensive and can add to the bottom line of your trip fast.

The best souvenirs are the memories you make and the pictures you take, so if you can live with that then skip the gift shop.

Some people (including myself) absolutely have to get a souvenir to mark the day.

I would recommend limiting yourself to a strict budget before you head into the gift shop, that way you aren’t tempted to justify buying something that is obviously out of your price range.

19. Eat Outside of the Park

You are not allowed to bring any food or water into the Six Flags parks, so if you don’t plan ahead you will be forced to spend an insane amount of money on amusement park food.

Whatever you choose to do about food, just remember that the park food will be outrageously expensive.

The best way to avoid this cost is to eat before you get into the park and after you leave. There will likely be many options right outside of the parks gates that are more affordable.

If you would prefer to save even more money, then you could bring your own cooler full of lunch food and eat it at the car around lunchtime.

20. Stick to the Rides

Instead of playing the many games that are available in the park, just stick to the rides. The games are fun but expensive. If you play more than one or two the cost can really start to eat into your trip’s budget.

If you cannot avoid the games altogether, then set a budget before you start playing and stick to it.

There are many other things to do at the park, including the rides! You can have a ton of fun without playing a single game.

21. Have a Plan

If you want to get the most out of your money, then you will want to have a game plan before you get to the park. A good place to start is to decide on what you want to do.

You can then decide the order based on the park layout. Maps of the parks are easily found online, this is the Magic Mountain location’s map.

Making a plan is a great way to maximize your park time, but remember to be flexible. It is likely that not everything will go exactly according to the plan, but it is still good to have an idea of what you would like to see while you are in the park.

22. Remember the Extras

Every time you visit a theme park, you will encounter little things that can really add to your budget.

It might be the photo you have to buy because everyone is actually smiling, the ice cream cone that needs to be replaced after an accident or a balloon for a kiddo who is behaving extremely well.

You never know what little thing will come up on your trip, but make sure to budget a little extra money into your trip so that you are able to enjoy the trip even if things are not going exactly according to the plan.

Final Tips

The parks are spread out across the country and all offer different experiences. One final way to save is to just plan on going to the park closest to you, instead of trekking across the country.

The closer you are to home, the less you will be spending on transportation to get there and can really help save you a lot of money.

Planning a Six Flags trip will be an adventure in itself. Most of the deals vary by the park location, so you will have to look in a few different places to ensure that you get the best deal for tickets.

Always check out a couple of different deals before you choose a deal. The best thing way to save money is to give yourself plenty of time to look into the different money saving options so that you can use the best deal in the area to your advantage.

How will you save money on Six Flags tickets this summer?

You Don’t Have to Sign Your Credit Card Receipts Anymore

At the end of a credit card transaction, the merchant usually asks for your signature.

How many times have you scribbled something resembling a signature on your credit card receipt and thought, wow this looks just like a three-year-olds best doodle? You are not alone.  In fact, signatures were so ineffective at stopping credit card fraud that they have been eliminated as a security feature.

That’s right! You no longer have to awkwardly hold your purchase and scribble an illegible attempt of your signature at check out.

Major credit card issuers like Via, American Express, Discover, and Mastercard are no longer requiring signatures as of April 2018.

Why are Signatures Going Away?

The added security of a signature has been rendered no longer necessary in the fight against fraud.

In a press release, the Executive Vice President of Global Network Business for American Express, Jaromir Divilek, said:

“The payments landscape has evolved to the point where we can now eliminate this pain point for our merchants. Our fraud capabilities have advanced so that signatures are no longer necessary to fight fraud.”

In the past couple of years, you probably remember receiving a new card that has a chip inside of it. Until now, all that meant is you must insert your card instead of swiping it.

The transition was a little weird in the beginning, but now we all know to insert our cards until the beep indicates that your transaction is approved.

The recent advances in card security have stemmed from the new chips that are found in credit cards. The chips are extremely complicated additions to the wall of credit card security that has been built against fraud.

With this new technology that provides protection against card skimmers, the signature was not really adding any benefits to the customer or the merchant.

Why require everyone to sign a receipt when you could just encrypt all of the cards? The encryption is much more effective against fraud.

Does This Mean My Credit Card is Completely Safe?

Unfortunately, there will always be people that want to steal your information.

The bad news is that your credit card information is always at risk. For some reason, people prefer stealing your money instead of working hard and earning their own cash.

But the good news is that these new chips make it much harder for criminals to steal your money.

The chips will protect you better than your signature ever could, but scammers will not rest until they crack this new code.

There is already a new kind of credit card theft device called a shimmer, which is a thin shim containing a microchip and a small amount of storage. Scammers place this device into the credit card chip reader and wait for someone to insert their card.

Once someone inserted their card, the information is easily stored by the skimmer.

How to Protect My Card

Just because there are scammers, does not mean your information will be stolen. You can take a variety of precautions to limit the chance of your information being stolen.

You can use tap and go features that have recently started expanding. This form of payment is contactless. So it is unlikely that a thief can steal your information through any kind of device because almost all information stealing devices require physical contact with the credit card.

Some examples of this contactless payment method include Apple Pay or Samsung Pay.

Also, make an effort to withdraw cash from a teller instead of just using the ATM. Your card will be much safer in the hands of a real bank employee.

If you have to use an ATM, then make sure to use one that is in a well-visited area. ATMs in areas with low traffic have a higher chance of being tampered with by scammers. If your card seems to encounter some resistance when you enter it, then do not proceed with the transaction.

Another common place where credit card information is stolen is the gas station. Try to use a pump that is in the line of sight of the attendant, it is less that a scammer would tamper with more visible pumps.

You should always be aware of potential credit card threats around you. As a general rule of thumb, just follow your instincts when it comes to using your credit card. Never use your credit card to buy something from a website (or a physical retailer) that makes you feel uneasy.

Further Protections Against Credit Card Fraud

One of the simplest ways to avoid a crisis involving card fraud is to simply use a credit card instead of a debit card. Credit cards have superior protection when it comes to fraud protection.

You can report fraud that you spot on your credit card bill to your provider. Since you don’t have to pay for the bill until the end of the month, you have some time to clear up the issue before you have to pay for a criminals purchases.

If your credit card information does get stolen, it will still be upsetting but at least you will not have to pay for the scammer’s shopping spree. But, if your debit card information gets stolen, it may take some time before the money is returned to you.

If you decide to use a credit card for safer transactions, then just make sure to pay off the balance in full every month in order to avoid accumulating any debt.

Final Thoughts

Credit cards can be a great way to pay for things because of the peace of mind associated with them. Every day companies are working hard to ensure your credit card information stays safe and secure.

An added benefit of this recent technology advancement is that you no longer have to spend your time signing receipts, you can simply just walk away and enjoy your purchase.

How will this change make your life easier?

18 Best Apps like Ibotta

Everyone loves cash! We all want to save more money while we are out shopping for essentials and the apps below will help you stretch your dollar a little bit farther.

All of the apps in this article are very similar to Ibotta, an amazing app that every wallet conscious shopper knows and loves.

What is Ibotta?

If you aren’t familiar with Ibotta, it is an app that will pay you back for the money that you’ve spent at the store. Yes, it will simply give you cash after you take a picture of your receipt. I know, it sounds too good to be true! It is a real way to easily save some money though.

The amount of cash you receive is based on the offers available in the app. You can glance the offers over before you shop if you want to maximize your savings. Plus, Ibotta will send your cash to PayPal as soon you request it.  Ibotta is not the only cash back app out there though, below is a list of many apps that will pay you just for shopping.

The money you can earn with these apps is basically free money, so there is no reason why you cannot capitalize on this!

Best Cash Back Apps

1. Shopkick

Shopkick is a versatile app that will give you points or “kicks” for a couple of different things. You don’t even have to buy anything to earn money with this app!

The first thing Shopkick will pay you for is just walking in to select retailers, yes you just have to go to the store. The GPS feature of the app will know if you enter a store and the kicks will automatically be put in your account when you leave the store.

You can see what stores are offering walk-in kicks by navigating to the store section of the app. The best part of this feature is that you don’t even have to buy anything!

If you are planning on going to a store anyways, this is an amazing way to earn some cash in exchange for something you were already planning on doing. You could even check out the list of available stores and stop in a few on your way home to earn some easy points.

If you want to earn additional kicks, then you can start scanning product barcodes. The scan barcode feature is only available when you are in the actual store, so don’t try to find it in the app unless you are already in a store. Although scanning barcode for points is not available at every store, it can be a quick way to earn some points.

A word of friendly advice, some retailers don’t mind, but other retailers don’t encourage scanning barcodes so you might want to attempt doing this discreetly. You could even make a game out of it and attempt to scan barcodes like a point claiming James Bond.

A final way to earn kicks is by actually buying an item. You will have to use their special coupons and discounts. If you find a good deal on their app, then this is a great added bonus. If you don’t find anything you want to buy, you can still keep all the other points you earned in that trip.

Now the best part, cashing out. Shopkick will allow you to redeem your kicks for gift cards to a large selection of retailers. Some gift card options include BestBuy, Urban Outfitters, Target, Walmart, Macy’s and many more.

A fun way to use Shopkick is going on a shopping spree with a fellow budget-conscious friend. You can rack up points together or make it into a scavenger hunt competition- whoever has the most points wins! Making money while having fun? Sounds like a win-win situation to me.

2. Saving Star

Saving Star will help you save money on your groceries through its website where you can claim monthly deals at various stores in your area. It is important to note that you absolutely must click the “I want this deal” button in order to receive credit for the deal.

If you do not claim it before you buy it, you will not get your credit. Fortunately, there is an app so you can just view the deals at the store and claim it right before you buy it.

You will need to have store loyalty cards in order to use this website. Unlike most of these other apps, you do not have to scan your receipt, you will need to link your store loyalty cards to Saving Star and your purchases will be tracked that way.

One drawback to Saving Star is that it may take a little while for you to receive your money. According to the website, it will take an average of two to fourteen days to receive your credit, but it could take up to 30 days.

The money you save will add up in your account until you decide to cash it out. You pay out options are an Amazon gift card, PayPal or a donation to American Forests.

3. Dosh

Dosh will give you cash back for shopping at certain stores in your area. All you have to do is check the list of available stores and offers, once you make a qualifying purchase at that store you will receive the advertised cash back.

You do not have to send in any receipts, but you will have to link your debit or credit card to the app to confirm your purchases. Most of the cash back options range from 5 to 10 % of your purchase. The stores are not just regular retailers, the list also includes restaurants if you are looking to save some money on a night out.

You can also use Dosh for cash back on your online purchases. If you want to learn more ways to earn cash back while shopping online, then check out the next section.

Dosh will also give you cash back on travel purchases like hotels. Any cash back on a hotel room is going to help offset the cost of travel, so it is definitely worth checking out.

Once you accumulate 15 dollars in cash back, you can just cash out via PayPal or direct deposit. The money will transfer within 2 or 3 business days.

4. Checkout 51

Checkout 51 is an app that you can use any store, not just grocery stores.

Before you go shopping, take a look at the list of offers on the Checkout 51 website. After your shopping trip, just upload the picture of your receipt to the app (or to the website) and watch the money roll in.

An additional feature that adds value to Checkout 51 is that you can also earn money from your online shopping by uploading a picture of the package label. If you are really into online shopping, then this is a great app to be aware of.

Instead of an electronic payment through direct deposit of PayPal, the payout is via check. It means that it may take longer for your money to get to you via snail mail, but this is free money so can we really complain? You just have to wait until you hit the threshold of 20 dollars before you are able to cash out.

5. Receipt Pal

Receipt Pal will pay you for receipts submitted either through their app or via email. You earn points every time you submit a receipt. For every 4 receipts, you will earn 100 points.

You can cash these points in for gift cards to places like Amazon, Restaurant.com and more. The longer you can hold off redeeming your points, the more valuable they will be to you.

The larger point values have a much larger gift card payout. You can almost double your point value by saving your points for a bigger redemption. And we can all agree that more value is always a good thing.

When you first start out, you will only be allowed to upload 20 receipts per week. As you continue to use the app, the number of receipts that you are allowed to submit will increase over time. You have to submit receipts within 30 days of the purchase or they don’t count.

Once you submit a receipt, you will get your points within 24 hours. You can redeem your points for a gift in the app at any time.

6. MobiSave

MobiSave is a great way to earn cash back on your grocery shopping. After you buy an item from the list of available offers, you will upload your receipt and get paid ASAP.

MobiSave will pay you via PayPal and there is no minimum payout. A big plus is that they will pay you within 24 hours of redeeming your offer, not having to wait around for your money is always a great thing.

7. BerryCart

As the name suggests, BerryCart is a cash back item for healthy food purchases like berries. Specifically, BerryCart will give you cash back on health-conscious foods.

What qualifies as healthy? Food choices that are organic, gluten-free, non-GMO or vegan. If you are a shopper that always looks for the healthiest options, then this is a great app for you.

Not only will the app give you cash back, it will also provide you information about the product. BerryCart will let you know what category the item falls into, or if it falls into multiple health categories.

After finding which products you want to buy through the app, you have the option to see what stores the product is available at. Not every product will be in every store because not all stores carry a large number of health-conscious choices.

Once you buy the product, simply scan the receipt into the app. It usually takes 24-28 hours for your claims to be processed.

The offers change weekly, so you can check back often to maximize your savings. After you earn the minimum payout threshold of 5 dollars, you can quickly cash out via PayPal.

8. Walmart Savings Catcher

Walmart Savings Catcher might be the easiest way to make sure you are getting the best deal in town. After you download the app, all you have to do is scan your receipt and Walmart does the rest.

They will search for a better price on all of the items on your receipt for a better price by a local competitor. If they find a better price, they will simply credit you the difference. That’s it, it is really that simple.

If you are constantly shopping around town for the best deal but don’t want to keep spending your time doing that, then this is a great app for you. You can be sure you are getting the best deal without spending hours going from store to store.

There is no payout minimum, so just claim your Walmart eGift Card anytime.

9. Shop Savvy

Shop Savvy will help you save money at the store by allowing you to scan an item for a price comparison. If you aren’t shopping at Walmart and using the Walmart Saving Catcher, then this can help make sure you get the best deal in town.

You don’t get cash back with this app, but if you need peace of mind about finding the absolute best deal then this will help you out a lot. You’ll never have to worry about getting the best deal ever again.

10. Fetch Rewards

Fetch Rewards is a very simple app to use. Unlike most other receipt scanning apps, they don’t care where you bought an item just that you did buy it from somewhere.

As with most apps, there is a list of offers that you can look to in order to maximize your savings. Instead of checking to see where the deal is offered, you just have to go buy that item wherever is most convenient for you.

One drawback is that there may not be a multitude of offers, yet. That is just because the app is fairly new, but it is still worth checking out.

You will receive points in exchange for your redeemed offers. Every 1,000 points equal 1 US dollar. You can cash out with a minimum of 3, 000 points (3 dollars).

The payout options are gift cards to retailers you most likely shop at often like CVS, Target, and Amazon. You can also choose to donate your earnings to the Red Cross. All of these options are basically as good as cash to me because I can use them for my next purchase of everyday items like food, medicine, and other essentials.

11. Receipt Hog

You will just have to upload your receipt to get paid by Receipt Hog. Instead of cold hard cash, you will earn points that you can redeem for either cash via PayPal or an Amazon gift card.  Requests to exchange points for your payout are usually processed within seven days.

Receipt Hog will accept receipts from any store, not just grocery stores.

12. Coupon Sherpa

Coupon Sherpa is a great option for saving money at the store. Although you won’t be able to earn cash back with Coupon Sherpa, you will probably be able to save quite a bit of money through this app.

You might know the feeling of getting close to the front of the checkout line and remembering that you haven’t checked for coupons. You can easily find the best coupons fast with Coupon Sherpa.

Simply open the app and do a quick search for available coupons. You can even save your favorite stores for faster access to relevant coupons.

13. Krazy Coupon Lady

Krazy Coupon Lady is another great option if you are looking to save some money at checkout. The app has tons of coupons that you can easily use right in the store.

You might not be earning cash back, but keeping money in your pocket is just as good as putting it in your pocket.

14. Shopmium

Shopmium works exactly like Ibotta. Just scan your receipt and they will give you money if your purchases qualify for their offers.

The best part is there is no minimum payout. So as soon as your purchases are verified and approved, your money will be sent to either PayPal or directly to your bank account.

It is so simple, it might be crazy not trying it.

15. Punchcard

Most of us have used the paper form of a punch card at some point in your attempts to maximize our spending. Usually, places will just ask that you get your card 10 times and the 11th item that you buy is free, or something along those lines.

Punchcard is basically a virtual punchcard. Instead of a free sandwich, you can earn cash rewards. Some of the retailers that are currently participating in Punchcard are Safeway, Trader Joe’s, McDonald’s, Best Buy, Starbucks, Target, local stores and many more.

To earn rewards from Punchcard, you will have to go through a slightly complicated process.

First, find a card in the app that is worth punching. (Just pick stores that you know you will be at often). Second, scan your receipt within five days of your purchase using the Punchcard app. Then you will be given the chance to spin a wheel for points.

The point values on the spinner range from 5 to 500, so the number of points you earn per receipt will likely vary. The points you earn through the Punchcard app are called mPoints, these can be redeemed in another system called mPoints.

So, it is slightly more difficult to earn you reward because of the two different platforms, but you can still claim your rewards.

You can redeem your mPoints for sweepstakes entries, gift cards or physical items. The mPoint values are fairly low, but every little bit counts so this could be worth doing. My advice is to avoid the physical item redemption unless it is something you absolutely need or wanted anyways because the mPoint redemption value seems to be the lowest in the category.

16. Snap by Groupon

Snap by Groupon will give you cash back on purchases made at any store. You just need to upload your receipt and watch as the money rolls in. You can use the app or the website to earn money with this platform.

Typically, your purchases will be approved within 48 hours. There is a payout minimum of 20 dollars, but once you hit that you can request your payment. One drawback is that it can take up to 60 days to get your earnings, but you will eventually get your cash.

Best Online Cash Back Apps

All of the apps above are great ways to earn cash back for your in-store purchases. However, they might not be super useful for you if you do all of your shopping online.

Apparently, you can even buy groceries online now, so the incentive to leave the house just got lower. With everything available online, sometimes it can be hard to get to the store to capitalize on these deals, but do not worry there are some online cash back options as well.

Just because you like staying home doesn’t mean you can’t earn cash back as well! These last two options are perfect if you prefer shopping from the comfort of your couch.

17. Paribus

Paribus is slightly different than the apps listed because it is not really giving you cash back. Instead, it is refunding the money that you deserve. Why do you deserve the money they are willing to give you?

Have you ever bought something and then the very next day the price drops? Wouldn’t it be nice to cash in on that saving without having to go through the hassle of a return and repurchase, if the retailer would even let you do that?

Well, now you don’t even have to worry about it because Paribus will track your online purchases. If the price drops on an item that you purchased, you will be refunded the price difference by the retailer. The money should be returned to your original form of payment within 3 to 7 business days. All you have to do is sign up once, the rest of the work is done by Paribus.  That is pretty amazing, right?

Paribus monitors majority retailers that you most likely shop at including Costco, Walmart and more.

18. Ebates

Ebates is a cashback website, but it does not require you to scan receipts at all. All of the saving potential is through online shopping, so if you really don’t envision yourself going shopping in a physical retailer this is for you!

It is really easy to use, just install the app into your browser. After that, you will get a notification anytime you are on a website with a cash back opportunity. Simply activate Ebates for that transaction and you will get a certain percentage of cash back.

You can cash out at any time with a check mailed to your home. Although the snail mail may cause a minor delay, this might be the easiest money you ever make.

Final Thoughts

All of these apps are really amazing ways to put some extra cash back into your wallet. Everyone has to buy groceries and most people wish that food bill was lower. If you want to save some money on your next shopping trip, then signing up for apps like this is really a no-brainer.

To really maximize your earning potential with these kinds of apps, you might want to try signing up for more than one of them. The deals in each may vary monthly or weekly, so the best deal for you might be in a different app each week.

Which apps will you be trying out this week?

2 Apps to Earn Credit Card Rewards Without Paying Interest

Credit card rewards can add up fast and give you some amazing benefits. Some of the better-known perks are things like trips paid for with travel points or cold hard cash rewards. Who wouldn’t want to cash in on these perks? It’s free money!

Learn more about top rewards cards here.

However, the most common reason that people (including me) have held back on earning credit card rewards is a fear of accumulating a massive credit card debt that will burden you forever.

The hardest part of maximizing your credit card rewards is managing all of your different cards and remembering to make your payments on time.

You can easily ensure that you avoid paying interest by utilizing the built-in grace period of your card. The grace period is usually between 21 and 27 days long.

It starts at the end of your billing cycle and ends at the due date of that billing cycle, this gives you some time to pay your balance in full. As long as you pay the balance in full by the end of the grace period, you can easily avoid any interest payments.

With multiple cards to manage, it can be difficult to keep track of all the due dates associated with each card. If you forget a due date or two, then you will miss the grace period and it can be all too easy for interest to start adding up.

Plus, if you’ve ever carried a balance on your credit card, it may take two consecutive months of paying in full to reinstate your grace period. During the time you are without a grace period, interest applies from the day your transactions post.

Shouldn’t there be an easier way to maximize your credit card rewards without paying interest?

There are two great options to check out below.

How to Get Credit Card Rewards Without Paying Interest

1. Debx

Debx is a solution to effectively managing your credit card rewards without ever having to pay interest.  It’s a personal finance app that allows you to set up automatic payments to pay off your everyday credit card purchases as you make them.

The automatic payments allow you to collect your rewards without dreading a huge bill at the end of the month or worrying about going into debt.

Debx stands out because of its level of transparency. The founder of the company provides his personal cell phone on the app as well as on the website.

Debx also has an overdraft protection guarantee to its users, which makes it the first app of its kind to back up its technology. That means you never have to worry about spending money you don’t have. You’ll be alerted when you’re approaching your shutoff amount, which alerts Debx to stop making payments to avoid overdraft.

The app helps to keep all of your card information extremely accessible to you. You will no longer have to switch between multiple apps to see your available balances, everything will all be compiled in the Debx app.

The app also lets you know about events happening in your bank account. Through its smart notification system, you will be alerted for payments made, bill due dates, and rewards you’re earning.

In the future, Debx will allow you to track all of your rewards in one place as well as provide you with information on the best financial products based on your spending habits.

Best Features for Current Credit Card Users

Debx saves you from the hassle of penalties that might otherwise happen more frequently. The app ensures protection against late payment fees and overdraft fees because of the automatic payment system that Debx uses.

Debx will also help you to keep your credit score high by keeping your credit utilization at or below 10% all month. Your credit utilization rate can have a large impact on your credit score and if you only pay off your card once a month, this number is probably higher than you would like it. That’s because when the bill is due, and when you likely pay it, is probably not the same time of month when your utilization is reported to the credit bureaus.

One of the best features is that you don’t have to pay each monthly bill as it appears each month. The app will simply pay off your credit card charges throughout the month to avoid a big bill or interest fees.

This is a hugely important feature because you will never have to worry about missing a credit card payment again, the payments will just happen automatically through the app.

Best Features for Future Credit Card Users

Debx is great even if you usually use your debit card because you might prefer to start earning rewards for your spending, then Debx is a great tool for you. Plus, you can also work to build your credit score with responsible credit usage.

It will help you to shift your responsible spending from debit to credit. As you spend more on credit cards, the rewards will pour in and your credit score will increase. You won’t feel nervous about using your credit card because it is easy to make your payments on time.

The Debx app will also allow you to see your true balance, which is very important if you are considering making a purchase. The app subtracts all planned payments from your current balance to give you a True Checking Balance that is good to know.

It is very simple to sign up for Debx. You will not have to provide any of your personal information and it will only take 90 seconds. You can find out more on their website.

2. Debitize

Debitize is another app that will help you to manage your credit cards effectively and avoid costly interest payments.

The way this works is that Debitize will pay off your cards on a monthly basis. You can also upgrade to weekly payments for a fee of $4.99/month.

The app is easy to use and can be a good way to manage your cards with confidence.

However, they do require you to set up a new Debitize checking account, where they will store your money as they withdraw it from your external checking account. The money from the Debitize checking account will them be used to pay your bill on the day you’ve chosen.

Other Ways to Avoid Paying Interest on Credit Cards

The simplest way to ensure you don’t incur any interest on your credit cards is to pay off the entire card every single month. It can be tempting to let some of the balance roll over because it is technically not due yet, but that is a dangerous habit.

Once you let your balance roll over once, you may end up letting it roll until you have a large amount of credit card debt following you around.

The other option is to use a credit card with a 0% APR. These cards don’t have any interest to worry about if you carry a balance, as long as you pay it off in full before the end of the introductory period, after which the 0% APR expires.

Final Thoughts

In general credit cards can be good financial tools, if used appropriately. Responsible credit card use can allow you to build a good credit score and maximize your spending through rewards. Most credit cards also offer additional consumer protections that can help prevent any unauthorized credit card activity on your account, which provides additional peace of mind.

You might be a recent college grad trying to build a credit score while staying out of debt. Or maybe you are just a travel junkie who cannot get enough rewards, ever.

Whoever you are, avoiding interest payments is always a good idea.

Which tools will you use to avoid paying interest on your credit cards?

After you apply and are accepted, the company will require you to go through a training process. Once you pass through that, they will assign you phone shops based on what they need to be done. You have a whole week to complete the call and you can do it anytime that the business is open.

The company will pay you between 12 and 17 dollars per shop, which is a really good rate considering that you are just making one phone call. You will receive a payment via check at the beginning of the month for work that you completed the previous month.

Advice for New Mystery Shoppers

A word of caution, if you are going to sign up for any mystery shopping company, then make sure to check that it is not a scam. One sure sign of a scam is being asked to pay for the privilege to mystery shop.

A legitimate company would never ask you to pay to work. If you run into that huge red flag, then just move on to a different company that has been proven to be reputable.

There are plenty of great mystery shopping companies out there, so never sign up with one that makes you feel uncomfortable. It is just not worth it if you do not feel okay with working for that company.

Although mystery shopping is an unreliable source of income, it can be a really easy way to earn some extra cash and have a little bit of fun at the same time.

Some easy ways to increase your opportunities are to sign up for multiple companies, always show up if you sign up for a shop and just do a good job! Any company is more likely to give you work if you are good at the job.
