What is Lucktastic?

Lucktastic describes itself as “a fun and free way to win real cash and prizes and earn rewards.” In fact, Lucktastic is mobile-only and works with Android and Apple devices.

If you want to make money from your smartphone, Lucktastic can be an easy and fun app. The most common way to win prizes is by swiping digital scratch cards. You can also sign up for partner offers to earn bonus points.

While many online side hustles take up to 20 minutes, most Lucktastic scratch cards only take up to 30 seconds to complete. You can attempt multiple cards each day to earn rewards in your free time.

Who Can Join?

Below are the basic requirements to join Lucktastic:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • At least 13 years old
  • Own an Android or iOS device with in-app GPS location services enabled

Lucktastic is one creative way for teens to make money at home as it’s easy to join.

How To Make Money with Lucktastic

Scratch cards are the most common way to earn Lucktastic rewards, but there are other ways to earn rewards points and cash as well.

Instant Win Scratch Cards

Every Lucktastic scratch card is free to play and only takes a few seconds. There are dozens of scratch cards to play every day.

Each scratch card has six boxes to scratch and you need to match three symbols to win the grand prize.

Depending on the card, you can either win cash or tokens. You will see the potential grand prize before playing the card to see if you can win cash or tokens.

Cards with cash prizes can let you win between $2 and $1,500. Other scratch cards offer bonus tokens that you can redeem for gift cards or contest entries. If you play enough scratch cards each day, you unlock the $10,000 scratch prize.

You can play each scratch card game once a day. The clock resets each day at 5 AM Eastern Standard Time.

Lucktastic releases extra scratch cards each afternoon and evening:

  • 1 and 5 pm Eastern Standard Time
  • After 9 pm Eastern Standard Time

While Lucktastic is free to play, you will need to watch a 30-second advertisement before you can begin scratching. These advertisements can become slightly annoying and repetitive, but no purchase is necessary to use Lucktastic.

You can earn bonus tokens and contest entries by being an active Lucktastic member.

Make sure you play one scratch game at least four days in a row to earn a daily rewards bonus. On the fifth consecutive day, you can earn a mystery reward of either tokens or contest entries.

There are other challenges for new Lucktastic members and completing certain tasks.

Try New Apps

You can earn additional tokens by downloading sponsored apps through Lucktastic. For example, you can visit the OfferUp app, watch a brief video, and browse local offers on the app to instantly earn 300 rewards tokens.

The offers are constantly changing and some apps might can offer actual cash payouts. In general, most apps earn tokens that you can redeem for gift cards.

In some cases, you will can play games and earn points by achieving a certain level. These games are free to download and don’t require in-app purchases.

Lucktastic VIP

If you love Lucktastic and play scratch cards often, consider the Lucktastic VIP loyalty program. You can get special freebies like exclusive scratch cards.

Share Lucktastic on Social Media

Sharing Lucktastic on social media also helps you earn more tokens by showing others that Lucktastic is a legit app. You will earn 1,000 tokens for each friend you refer via social media.

Become a College Ambassador

Although anybody in the United States at least 13 years or older can join Lucktastic, college students wanting to make money have an added incentive to join Lucktastic.

As an ambassador, you get Lucktastic swag like free stickers, pens, and apparel to give your classmates. You will also earn gift cards by referring new Lucktastic members.

Win These Lucktastic Rewards

In the Lucktastic app, you can see your current balance for cash rewards, tokens and contest entries.

Cash Prizes

You have three different payment options for cash rewards:

  • Digital gift cards: Balances between $5 to $14.99
  • Paper check: Balances of $15 and above
  • Visa gift card: Balances of $100 and above

Some of the gift card options include Amazon, Gamestop and Dunkin’ Donuts. As it can take a long time to earn cash rewards, then gift cards can be the best option. But if you want a grand prize, Lucktastic mails you a paper check that you can remote deposit.

Redeem Tokens for Gift Cards

You can begin redeeming your tokens for $5 gift cards once your balance reaches 30,000 tokens.

Some of the gift card redemption options include:

Because it takes 30,000 tokens to earn the cheapest gift card, you shouldn’t rely exclusively on the scratch cards to earn tokens.

You should also share Lucktastic on social media and try new apps. And, play at least one scratch card each day to earn the daily reward bonus!

Enter Contests

You can also redeem your tokens for contest entries. Winning isn’t a guarantee, but each entry only requires a few tokens. Some of the active contests can help you win:

  • $500 for groceries
  • iPads
  • Gift cards
  • Cash sweepstakes
  • Tokens

Positives and Negatives

  • Completely free to download and play
  • Each scratch game only takes a few seconds to play
  • Cash and gift card payments
  • Earn bonus tokens by testing apps and referring friends
  • Bonus scratch cards available between 1 and 5 pm Eastern and after 9 pm Eastern.

Since Lucktastic only requires an internet connection to play and a single scratch game only takes a few seconds to play, you can play at home or in public with minimal effort or time commitment. Just for its simplicity, Lucktastic can be worth trying out.

  • Can take a long time to win a prize
  • Must watch a 15 or 30-second advertisement before each scratch game
  • Need 30,000 tokens for a $5 gift card

Some of the most common complaints by Lucktastic app reviewers is that the odds of winning a substantial cash prize are slim. It also takes a long time to earn enough tokens to get a gift card. As a result, Lucktastic has a Trustpilot score of 1.4 out of 5.

For example, Lucktastic can be a pair will with online surveys or completing short tasks on Swagbucks. However, Lucktastic won’t replace your current side hustle income.

There are real winners who hit the jackpot, but most people are only going to win a few dollars worth of prizes when they win a scratch game. If you don’t play Lucktastic on a regular basis, it will take a very long time to win a prize.

As long as you go into Lucktastic knowing that you’re playing a free game of chance, you’ll know that it can take a while to win a prize. However, no two Lucktastic members will have identical winning experiences. The best friend you refer (or you) might win a large prize soon after signing up.

Is Lucktastic a Scam?

No, Lucktastic is legit and has given away more than $3 million in cash and prizes since 2012. Plus, the Lucktastic app ranks as one of the best lifestyle apps in Google Play and the App Store.

But it can take a long time to earn tokens and cash. The app makers are also very clear that Lucktastic isn’t a “get rich quick” app.

If you need money now, you should consider another activity to raise cash.

Who Should Join Lucktastic?

Lucktastic is a good option in these instances:

  • Teens at least 13 years old
  • Want a fun side hustle that requires minimal effort and time
  • Earn cash or gift cards
  • Enjoy playing games
  • Want a free hobby

Many people don’t play the lottery in the real world because you’re more likely to lose money long-term instead of winning money. Although you might get lucky and win a substantial prize on your first or second ticket, this almost always isn’t the case.

The same principle is true with Lucktastic, the odds of winning the “grand prize” on a scratch card are relatively low and a fun way to use your free time outside of work or classes.

Even if you’re opposed to playing the lottery, you might enjoy Lucktastic because it’s completely free. Your only cost to play is your time.

If you like playing games on your phone or tablet, Lucktastic is worth the download because you can win real prizes instead of bragging rights for achieving the new high score in your friend circle with other games that only offer in-app rewards.

It’s free to try so the only thing you have to lose is your time.

Playing instant win games can be a good alternative other free hobbies. You can earn cash and gift cards for your effort.

  1. I have been playing this app almost daily since April, 2017. I recently acquired enough tokens for a $50 gift card. However, they will not redeem it. In the instant rewards section it promises that all it takes to redeem the gift cards is tokens. Yet, after numerous non-answer type responses from customer service, they now state that one must download partner apps in a tiered fashion based on the value amount of gift card you want to redeem. The exact tiers or numbers of partner apps you must download is not explained, and this is contrary to everything posted in the app or online. I have gained them thousands of dollars through the fact that there are 2 ads minimum per card and rampant app crashes – as in: you watch a 30 second commercial, then the app crashes so you have to watch it again before you get the card. This happens several times per session and I have wrestled with this for over a year because I need this Amazon card. I feel very cheated and scammed and wish to warn others of my experience. I have screenshots and e-mails to verify everything I am saying. Needless to say I have never won anything. There’s always names of people who have allegedly redeemed the same card I want new and updated every day. I believe all these names and other winner names may be invented. Don’t waste your time with this lying, scamming waste of time. It pads someone’s pockets, but not mine.

    • I’m sorry to hear that you haven’t had good luck with this app. Thanks for your opinion and response.

  2. I got a notification that I won the monopoly of $100,000 and a $5,000 Amazon card, but they want me to pay $298 to get my winnings.

    • They told me the same thing. I won $750,000.00 but they want me to pay them $650.00 before they direct deposit the money. TOTAL SCAM!!

  3. I tried to use my tokens for a Walmart card. It said they’re out, check back tomorrow. That was 2 weeks ago. I get the same message every day. I tried my CVS card and get the same message. It’s the same way with Petco. So, I would say its a scam if you can’t redeem your tokens.

    • Possibly. Did you try contacting them about it? That might be another way to find out whether they are just having a system problem or really can’t get your card for you.

      • I just received a DM on instagram saying I won the grand $250,000 and groceries… but I had a tax of $169 that once verified I paid, I would get reimbursed. Why did I even download? If you win, you don’t owe!!

  4. They told me I won a grand prize but want me to pay $299.99 for some document – 1% or some amount…I highly doubt this is legit from Lucktastic on Instagram.

    • My guess is that you are right. It could be a scammer trying to pose as Lucktastic. It’s good that you were wary and did not fall for it.

      • I was told I won the $150k Jack pot on Instagram but they wanted way to much info and I needed to download a file so they have access to files on my phone. I didnt do it and haven’t heard back.

  5. I have been playing for 2 hours a day on the average for 3 months now, as I broke my ankle. I have a total of $1.25 ($1 and .25, both in the first week) and 63,500 coins. Now I see that all I can redeem it for is a magazine subscription or a $10 gift card, neither of which I can use!

    • That is frustrating! I’m sorry you are not having good luck with them. We did indicate that it isn’t always the best use of time considering how long it takes to win. You probably won’t get rich doing it.

  6. Maybe it is time for you to reevaluate this app. They have changed their rules several times, almost tripling the amount of tokens needed to get a $100 gift card from the number required for the $50 gift card. I had been trying to get the $50 gift card. On October 1st, I got a $5 gift card and have been trying for another one since then. Today I actually qualified for the $5 gift card again with 4 times the amount of tokens but I never got the code I needed in a text to my phone. They are scamming people. I am sure they are getting money from the advertisers but not disseminating it as promised to us.

    • Have you contacted them about it? I would, if you haven’t already. If you state your case clearly and calmly, as you did in your comments, you might get their help to fix the problem. I wish you luck!

  7. I’ve been playing for a while. They want you to down load a bunch of apps. That, I do not like. They only give you $.25 in money and it takes forever to build up tokens. Now I’ve got to download another just to get a gift card.

    • You sound frustrated. I am sorry for that. We did mention in the post that it can take a long time to build up tokens and that for some people it may feel like a waste of time. It’s totally up to you whether to continue or find another way to better use your time. Either way, good luck!

  8. So this is actually a scam app that uses a rolling numerical algorithm. In the pictures, some of the people are actually the same people dressed differently. Your first day you will win between $.25-$3, and then the cash prizes will cease. You can save up points but they will always be “Out of stock”. Based on the article, I assume the editor is working for them. Along with nine other people, I have assembled our findings on this app.

      • I did, actually. They just said that it’s a scratch off and no prizes are promised. However, after comparing notes with nine other people, this seems to be a trend.

        • I’m glad you contacted them, but sorry you are having a negative experience. We did mention that it takes a long time to earn prizes and some people might feel it’s a waste of time. Thanks for your comments and response.

  9. I was not able to redeem my tokens for a gift card for the last 15 days. It always comes up with a message “out of stock”. The customer support answer to this is:
    1. Install more partner apps to be put in a priority queue
    2. Join the VIP program.
This app is nothing but a scam. Do not waste your time on this.

  10. I have been playing Lucktastic for a while and I finally got enough tokens to get what I wanted – the 50 dollar Walmart gift card. It was out, so I tried several other cards, and they were out too. This has been going on for a while. To me, it looks like they dangle bait in front of you, but never have the product people want.

  11. Bethany, I have the same problem. I have earned 199,999 tokens and planned on getting an Applebee’s gift card so I can take my partner out for dinner for Valentine’s day. It told me, “out of stock”, so I downloaded partner apps, but I still can’t get the card. I feel cheated too. I just want my gift card!

  12. It seems like ‘Deacon’ is also a scammer. Every response to the comments shows ‘No Help’. Deacon probably gets paid top dollar to write all of these. I wouldn’t trust Deacon.

    • I’m sorry you feel that way. Unfortunately, I can’t magically solve the issues anyone has with Lucktastic. People having problems can contact Lucktastic to try to resolve the issues. They also have the option to report them to the BBB, or Better Business Bureau if they feel it is warranted. Another idea is to simply try a different app or spend their time doing something else, like using one of our other posts to start a side hustle to make money. Thanks for your opinion and comments.

  13. I got a message from Lucktastic saying I have won first prize of 1 million dollars, a chef and an extra $10K, but after asking several times if I need to pay any money, and them saying no, they turn around and say I need to pay $799.99 for shipping. Scam much?

    • I believe you are correct and this is a scam. It sounds like someone was impersonating Lucktastic and you made a good call on your part!

  14. I have been playing now for three months. At first, the small change would come in and slowly get you to $3 and change and then stop. But, I did win two $5 Amazon cards almost back to back after a month of play and they did work. Accumulating tokens is a wasted endeavor as it takes way too much time to get what you need for a measly $5 gift card. I don’t think I will make it to the minimal amount to cash in the money as it never gives anymore after $3.75.

  15. I’ve been playing every day and trying every day to redeem my tokens for several different gift cards. They are always out of stock! I tried contacting Lucktastic and the emails were just returned to me… It’s a scam for sure!

  16. I started playing at the end of 2016 and when I got enough points to get a gift card in 2018 there didn’t seem to be any gift cards. I checked everyday and still today there were no gift cards. I have written them several times and I never get a response back. Plus, they shut down their FB pages. You can’t leave a comment on anything. The app is a big scam.

  17. This game isn’t worth the time. It’s a fake. I have been playing for months and the most I have ever won was 50 cents.

  18. I have been playing this for 2 years now. I wanted to cash is my tokens, which are up to 300,000 now (and only $1.10 in cash, LOL). But, when I try to cash in my tokens, it always tells me either I can’t unless I download 24 partner apps (or the big ones) or, “Sorry, this gift card is really popular right now. Check back.” I have now tried to get everything form crappy Burger King to a card and still I get the same thing. I have contacted them 3 times now in 3 weeks with no answer back. So, how is this not a scam?

    • I am sorry you are having trouble with them. You can always report them to the Better Business Bureau. I don’t know if that will make a difference or not, but it’s an option. Also, you could just drop them and use a different game app.

  19. So I have gotten many messages and emails claiming I have won 150,000 and a 5,000 grocery Amazon card. This was October 28,2019. I have been emailing and texting and have snapshots of everything. They say I need to pay 162.00 up front for taxes 2% now and 4 % later. I just can’t figure out why I would have to pay anything if I won it instantly.

  20. October the 20th I won $100 on a scratch card and I have still not received my winnings. I have been playing lucktastic for over 3 years, but when I finally win they wont send my money to me. My name was even posted in the app as a 100 dollar cash winner. I received the confirmation email from lucktastic. I contacted support and after emailing back and forth they finally confirmed my winnings. Still they have not mailed my cash winnings to me. I am very disappointed, as I going to spend the 100 dollars on my two grand sons for christmas.

  21. I Received a Instagram saying I won $1,000,000 from lucktastic. They called and the call was from Michigan. Is that for real or is this some sort of scam?

  22. Okay, you do have to do ALOT of games to get tokens. You can get gift cards, but you have to do more than just scratch off the tickets.

You also have to download and use their apps.

    Pretty easy though.
