So, you want to start a blog and make money posting ads online?

One of the easiest ways to monetize your blog without being spammy and turning away readers who only think you’re out to make a quick buck is with advertisements.

But, before you post another ad on your website–or post your first ad ever–be sure to read through this post to discover the best way to do online marketing and make money from your brand.

Make Money Posting Ads Online

In almost every instance, getting paid to post ads isn’t a way to get rich quickly, but you can earn a steady income whether or not you own a blog.

These are a few of the best ways to make money posting ads online.

1. Place Ads on Your Blog

Do you want to make up to $10 per ad click? In most cases, you’ll only earn a few cents per click. However, you can get paid to post ads on your blog.

Google AdSense is the most common online advertiser for many businesses and blogs. Even if you own a relatively new website, you can still make money each time a visitor clicks an ad.

If you have an established website with at least 25,000 monthly visitors, Mediavine can help you earn more than your current AdSense ads pay.

How much you make per click depends on several different factors:

  • Your site traffic
  • Ad placement
  • The advertiser (a big-name business might pay more per click than a smaller business with a limited budget)

Posting ads on your website can be a lucrative way to monetize your website when you do it correctly. Your highest-paying ads will be “above the fold” because the reader can see them without scrolling down.

2. Publish Sponsored Posts on Your Blog

Another easy way to make money advertising is by publishing sponsored posts. Once your blog increases in domain authority and page authority, you will be contacted by companies willing to pay you to advertise on your blog.

Before you agree to publish their content, you need to ask yourself a few questions:

  • Do I personally endorse this product or service?
  • Will my readers benefit from this post?
  • Does this post align with my personal brand?

You will probably receive more spammy sponsored posts than likable ones unless you like posting articles that support online casinos, tobacco, and other “questionable” business models.

As the site owner, you have the privilege of saying no to these paid offers. Some advertisers are willing to pay you more if you write the article. Keep that in mind if you enjoy writing and want to increase your profit.

3. Advertise on Social Media

There are legitimate ways to advertise and get paid on a social media platform.

Izea will pay to publish sponsored messages on the following social media channels:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Twitter

How much you get paid depends on the size of your audience and audience engagement. It’s completely free to join Izea so everything you earn is 100% profit.

You can also partner with other influencer platforms depending on which social media channels you have to earn extra cash as well.

Advertise on Facebook

While posting ads online is not a guaranteed way to make money, advertising on Facebook can be an effective way to grow your followers and advertise on the largest social media platform.

You can create a business page for free that lets other Facebook users follow your brand. Each time you post an update or share a link, your followers will see it, and they can click on the post link to visit your website.

In time, more followers mean other companies and advertisers might pay you to share their content with your audience.

For a few bucks, you can run an advertising campaign to reach new users based on where they live or their interests. If you use Facebook on a regular basis, you have probably seen sponsored ads on your Facebook feed.

Advertise on Pinterest

You can also post ads for free on Pinterest to engage a different audience that might not even have a Facebook account. Like Facebook, you can post pins for free on your boards and also pay for sponsored pins.

Advertise on Instagram

Ifluenz pays you to advertise on Instagram by connecting you with advertisers that appeal to a younger generation who like the simplicity of looking at pictures and brief descriptions without the additional content on its sister site, Facebook.

Facebook is more popular with internet users who are at least 30 years old.

To become an influencer with Ifluenz, you need at least 5,000 followers and a PayPal account to begin earning $10 per post.

As your audience grows, you can get paid up to $1,000 per post if you have 500,000 followers! This is a great way to earn money.

4. Monetize Your YouTube Channel

Videos are growing in popularity as internet bandwidth speeds accelerate. So, you should consider starting a YouTube channel if you’re not camera-shy.

Before monetizing your YouTube videos, your channel must meet two initial requirements.

These include:

  • At least 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months
  • Have at least 1,000 subscribers

Once you meet these two requirements, you can apply to monetize your site by displaying Google AdSense ads. You can also earn some additional cash by placing affiliate links for products you recommend in your videos as well.

Besides ads on your YouTube channel, you might also be sponsored by companies to advertise their products too.

While you can ask to partner with particular companies, they will also ask you once your channel “goes viral.”

5. Work as a Virtual Assistant

If you have experience in advertising in the past–either blogging or another company, you can earn money by posting ads and handling advertising as a virtual assistant.

You can be responsible for placing advertising codes inside blog posts and social media channels and finding new advertising partners. Ads can be one of several responsibilities as a virtual assistant working from home.

You can also get your foot in the door by offering to get paid to post ads online for clients through Fiverr. As its name implies, gigs on Fiverr start at $5, but you can charge for more complex tasks.

It’s your choice regarding which services to offer but you can offer to get paid to post ads on social media sites and online classified sites like Craigslist.

6. Offer Pay-per-Click Services

Companies want the attention of everyone searching their keywords, but that can only be possible with great advertisements.

Pay-per-click is one of the best ways to get the traffic companies want, but it isn’t straightforward.

However, if you thoroughly understand cost per click, return on ad spend, and advertising budgets, you can get paid to help companies set up their pay-per-click campaigns.

This usually works best if you choose one niche to focus on because the parameters for each platform are so different.

7. Start a Podcast

Blogs aren’t the only way to get companies to sponsor you; podcasts are another great avenue. Of course, like blogging, you’ll need a good-sized audience for advertisers to sponsor you, but you might get lucky if you have a podcast in a unique niche.

To advertise on a podcast, you’ll need audio advertisements, not written ones, and they must interrupt your podcast, like a TV show.

It makes sense to include ads that suit your audience so you don’t lose listeners and possibly increase the chances of your listeners following the ad and making a purchase.

Get Paid To Post Ads Offline

Online advertising is where most of the opportunities are, but you can still find a few ways to advertise in your local community with these offline advertising suggestions.

8. Advertise on Your Car

One fun way to make extra money is to advertise on your car with a company like Carvertise. Local companies and national brands will pay you to “wrap” your car, so you get paid to drive your car.

If you don’t mind having people stare at your car at the red light or in parking lots, this can be a way to make money with physical advertising.

9. Advertise on Your Clothing

Companies often pay people to wear their clothing, whether with ads on them or apparel from their brand. This method is most common when you have a popular blog or social media following.

Advertising on clothing is somewhat like sponsored posts because you wear the clothing and talk about it in your posts. You can also act as an ambassador or model for companies paying you for your time.

10. Work as an Advertising Auditor

Keeping track of published ads can get confusing, especially if the company has a lot of turnover or multiple people work on the ads.

An advertising auditor can track down all the advertisements, run the metrics, and help the marketing department understand which ads perform the best and which they can do without.

The auditor may also consult with the marketing department to revamp their advertising campaign to help the company succeed further.

Avoid This Ad Posting Scam

A common ad posting scam is websites that say you can make real money from ads on your social media accounts and other e-commerce platforms like Craigslist.

They require you to pay a one-time membership fee to get the starter kit and software to begin posting advertisements and getting paid.

The only catch is that the “company” closes shop and never pays you a dime because they were a scam.

Here’s the moral of the story: never pay a fee to join an advertising program.

If you find a company you think is legitimate, look for online reviews of these companies before joining, as even some that are free to join can be scams, too. Avoid these advertising companies that don’t have any positive reviews or no information at all.

Alternatives to Posting Ads to Make Money

Posting ads is a legitimate opportunity to make money if you’re a new blogger or have an established audience. You can also make money from ads in person if you own a car or are willing to wear a tattoo and can interact with people during your daily routine.

However, posting ads is only one half of the equation to making money online. You might also pursue these two methods to bring in some extra cash as well.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is similar to ads, but you only get paid when somebody signs up for a product or service through your referral link or banner.

By joining an affiliate program like FlexOffers, you can place text links and banner ads. These banners appear in your content and look similar to an advertisement from an ad network, except you get to choose the advertiser.

Payment isn’t guaranteed, but the payouts can be higher. While a Google AdSpace ad might pay $1 per click, that same affiliate click could yield $100 depending on the affiliate payout.

To diversify your online blog income, consider posting ads and using affiliate links and banners.

Pursue a Second Online Side Hustle

It’s never been easier to make money online. Posting ads can be considered a form of “passive income” as you only have to copy and paste the code once, and visitors can click on the link as long as your page remains active.

However, you might also need to earn a little active income until your advertising revenue grows.

For some quick and easy money, you might consider taking online surveys or leaving paid product reviews.

Summary

It’s really easy to get paid to post ads if you follow the legitimate tips listed here. You’ve already worked hard to build your personal brand, and posting ads can be an easy way to earn more fruit from your labor.

If you’re considering starting a blog or having one up and running, this is a great way to make additional money.
